We are delighted to announce the appointment of Voke Augoye to our cybersecurity team, Voke joins us as a Cybersecurity Consultant. Voke will be working closely with our clients to help them identify their key business risks and what measures should be taken to ensure that these are not exploited by cyber criminals. He will also be overseeing key cybersecurity services at ramsac, including Cyber Essentials, the ramsac Cyber Resilience Certification, and ramsac’s cybersecurity threat monitoring services.
Commenting on his appointment Voke said
“It has been amazing joining the ramsac family, and the word family is quite apt because it captures my experience since joining the company. I have found the environment very welcoming with the colleagues I have interacted with being warm, friendly, and happy to offer support. I have joined ramsac as a Cybersecurity Consultant transitioning from academia where I taught Cybersecurity courses to university students. I have an MSc and MPhil in Information Security and I am excited to transfer my skills gained over the years as a cybersecurity student, lecturer and practitioner to the industry, to improve the security posture of ramsac clients whilst developing new skills. I am confident ramsac is the right environment for me to make this transition and growth.”
Voke shared his view of the current cybersecurity landscape
“Cybersecurity is a big issue for individuals, companies and government and it’s currently an arms race between cybersecurity professionals trying to protect against cyber-attacks and the criminals trying to carry out exploits for financial and political gain. From statistics, cyber criminals appear to be winning this arms race with the frequency of cyber-attacks and impact on organisations. Nevertheless, there has been significant growth in cyber defence capabilities and many cyber-attacks can be averted with simple fixes. Hence, it is important we continue to create cyber awareness, so that individuals, businesses, and governments understand the severity of cyber-attacks, the importance of being cyber aware and cybersecurity strategies to prevent the likelihood of successful cyber-attacks.”
Speaking of Voke’s appointment, ramsac’s managing director Rob May said,
“Voke has joined us as a senior figure in our cybersecurity team at a really exciting time. He has a brilliant background in this sector and adds further strengths to our cyber resilience offerings and services. There isn’t a business on the planet that doesn’t need cybersecurity solutions and the demand we are seeing is huge. This further expansion to our team is a strategic part in our business plan and I’m delighted that Voke has joined us, and he is already making a difference.“
